Wemby looked good in his TD Garden debut. The rest of the Spurs? Not so much

Boston's core group barely broke a sweat in easily defeating the Victor Wembanyama-led San Antonio Spurs.

BOSTON — The idea that Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla would eventually put some of his end-of-the-bench players in the game earlier than usual came as no surprise against the struggling San Antonio Spurs.

But doing so less than six minutes into the first quarter?

These are different times, and these San Antonio Spurs will never be confused with the David Robinson/Tim Duncan Spurs even with a generational talent like Victor Wembanyama on the roster.

He was great in his TD Garden debut.

The rest of the Spurs?

Not so much.
