BOSTON — With a playoff seeding already locked up, there was very little the Boston Celtics could take from Friday’s game against Toronto.

And yet it was Boston - not Toronto - that played with a desperate sense of urgency that heavily factored in the Celtics leading by as many as 36 points in the first half.
