The Celtics (Finally) Put Away the Hawks, Move On to Second Round of Playoffs.
A 12-2 start capped off with an 18-7 finish was the kind of bookend performance Boston needed to close out their first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks.
ATLANTA — As the final horn sounded, the public address started blaring out the Ludacris hit “Roll out.”
It was a fitting song considering Boston’s 128-120 close-out victory over Atlanta, with the Celtics rolling on to the second round of the playoffs because the Hawks rolled over the stretch against a Celtics defense that wouldn’t even let them get a clean in-bounds pass off in the closing seconds.
But make no mistake about it.
The Celtics certainly are pleased to be moving on to the next round of play.
However, the fashion in which they advanced was anything but pleasing.
Not. Even. Close.
