The 5 Wings Boston Should Pursue If Made Available on The Buyout Market
When Brad Stevens coached the Boston Celtics, he tried his best to keep things relatively simple.
Play good defense, and position guys to make the shots they feel good about.
More nights than not, that’ll be good enough to win or at least compete.
Stevens’ approach as the team’s president of basketball operations, isn’t all that different, either.
Boston has the best record in the NBA, having shown the ability to score like no team in the NBA can. When shots haven’t fallen, the Celtics have morphed into their old fire-breathing, defensive-minded selves, too.
But they are far from a flawless team, with the most notable holes - that’s plural not singular - being their depth at center and the wing position.
They acquired the kind of backup for Al Horford and Robert Williams III at center that walks that fine line between being an upgrade over Luke Kornet ( who has played some really good basketball of late) but not necessarily being good enough to expect a consistently prominent role.
With the trade deadline over, Boston’s focus has to be on adding depth to the wing position.
