BOSTON — With time winding down in the fourth quarter, the Boston Celtics faithful began an all-too common “M-V-P, M-V-P!” chants.
It’s not unusual to hear this directed at Jayson Tatum who will likely finish in the top-5 for league MVP this year.
Jaylen Brown, in the running for a spot on the one of the all-NBA teams, will occasionally be serenaded with “M-V-P, M-V-P” chants.
But Derrick White?
A late bloomer in college who developed into a late first-round pick, is looking more and more like a late-blooming star whose play continues to be an instrumental part in Boston’s success.
