BOSTON — During the fourth quarter of Miami’s 112-91 play-in win over the Chicago Bulls, the Heat crowd began to chat, “We want Boston!”
Sounds familiar, huh?
Be careful what you ask for.
Because this Boston Celtics team that the Heat will face, they are more than just the holders of the best record in the NBA.
They are on the precipice of a postseason journey towards an NBA title, the kind of historical march this team, this year, was built for.
You see it in their dominance all season, winning more games (3) by 50 or more points in a single season than any team in league history.
Indeed, Boston delivered the kind of strong play that has etched this team’s place in Celtics lore with more regular season wins (64) than all but three teams to ever don the Green and White.
Yes, Friday’s win over Chicago has given the Heat exactly what it wanted - the Boston Celtics.
But the Celtics, truth be told, got what they wanted, too.
